Overview 

Microsoft Teams is a platform that allows you to host/attend meetings, collaborate on a group projects, and attend online classes. Most synchronous online classes use Microsoft Teams to host their classes.

How to Access Microsoft Teams

  1. Log into your CBU Email via Microsoft 365. Find out how here
  2. Navigate to the application launcher (the waffle icon in the top left hand corner).
  3. In the application launcher, select "Teams." 
  4. You should now be able to access Microsoft Teams.

How to Use Microsoft Teams

  1. Activity shows anything new on Teams, such as messages from your instructors, or team members trying to get in contact with you. 
  2. Chat functions as a direct messager. You can contact people directly through here. 
  3. Teams is possibly the most important page. It will show you your classes, groups, societies, etc. 
  4. On the Teams page, you can see a list of all yor classess as blocks. You can click on the names of your classes for more information. The first page Teams shows you is this page. 
  5. The Ellisipis menu (...) will allow you to change your settings, audio/visual devices, and more.

Frequently asked Questions [FAQ]

I cannot attend my online class from Teams!

This commonly happens from a broken link, or a malfunctioning Team's application. Check the link and/or restart your device. 

Teams is not Detecting my cameras/microphone. 

First, check if your device is functional on the camera app/microphone app. If the app is detecting input, then it is likely an issue with Teams and you can try the following steps: 

  • Ensure Teams has to access your camera/microphone. 

  • Check to see if Team is using the correct device. 

  • Try another browser. 

  • Try restarting the device. 

If no input is detected it is likely an issue with the hardware and you can try the following steps:

  • Make sure the device is turned on. 

  • Make sure your device is up to date.

  • Restart your device.

  • Update your drivers.

  • Try a different device.
