Setting Up OneDrive and Viewing Files Online Seamlessly

  1. These web applications work fantastic when paired with OneDrive. You can essentially have your files sync'd so everything appears on your app similar to the desktop. We already have a knowledge base article that contains instructions on how to setup OneDrive to your device and sync your files. This can be found here or if you look to the right of this article under the Related Articles section.

  2. Essentially we are syncing our files to the cloud so they are accessible on our office applications. For example:
You have a students essay in your Documents Folder. From here you have a subfolder called Test 1 and all of your students essays are here. When sync'd (which is does automatically) you can then navigate to your office portal here Office 365 and open Word. Once you open Word you will notice under My Documents that all your files are already there ready to work.

  3. You can also set it up to view these files online from within your PC. To do this you want to navigate to your file you are trying to access. Once you find it you simply right click on it and then choose View Online. This will open the file in the web based office app that it was created in.

Note

  • These applications are fully featured, but there may be some slight differences in terms of the user interface, but you will still be able to create, edit and more just as you can on the desktop applications.
